  • 12:00pm 4:30pm

Shared Harvest presents the second gathering in its slow food series - Event n° 2.

Founder Mairi MacKinnon will be joining forces with Willow Humphreys to host a lunch along with their team of Brisbane's most passionate food talent.

Heading the kitchen at event n° 2 will be chef Jarrod Huey from local cafes King Arthur and Merriweather. Jarrod will showcase his knowledge of sustainable, ethical and seasonal produce throughout his menu. This lunch he will bring you the best of seasonal and locally sourced produce with ingredients grown by familiar faces from the region.

Alongside Jarrod and his team we will be offering wines handmade by Jared Dixon of Jilly Wines.  These naturally processed small batch wines will be a welcome accompaniment to our lunch offerings.

A refreshing non alcoholic option will be offered by Cale Suesskow and Simon Anderson of Brisbane's Old Fashioned Co. They will be creating a signature soda syrup specially for the lunch using the best flavours of the season.

Aimee Young and Simon Harradence of Young Farmers will be providing us with beef and lamb raised locally and ethically in Beaudesert, QLD. Their animals are pasture raised, lovingly cared for and a delight to cook with offering unsurpassable flavour.

Fruit, vegetable and grains will be hand selected by Robert Pekin of Food Connect.  Robert is on a mission to create a fairer food system. His belief in ethical and transparent farming helps engage local farmers to supply and produce the freshest seasonal produce.

Dessert will be hand crafted by local talent Alphabet Cafe.  Sisters Meghan and Zoe Tullener are a delight to have on board.  Their focus on native ingredients used in creative and fresh ways will be a perfect finish to a hearty lunch.

We look forward to you joining us for this special event that will be held in conjunction with the Queensland book launch of Rohan Anderson's latest work 'A Year of Practiculture'.  We are overjoyed to have Rohan as a part of this event to join in the feast and share his adventures with us all.

A Year of Practiculture: SYDNEY BOOK LAUNCH

Presented by Milkwood

Join us for an evening of good food, good company and good conversation with Rohan Anderson and his brand new book: A Year of Practiculture.

Together we’ll eat, drink and be merry while Rohan discusses his down to earth philosophy of keeping his family’s food real, wholesome + close to home through a combination of hunting, foraging and growing his own sustenance, through the seasons.

We’ll ruminate on life, learn new things, consider what we already know, drink local beverages, slurp on home-made soup garnished with greens from the rooftop garden above and no doubt, make a few new friends. A night of fellowship and discussion about what matters in life. Plus food and books and a bar, with some live music thrown in too.

You can either buy a straight up ticket, or a ticket + signed book package. If you plan to buy the book, we’d all appreciate it if you do the presale thing so we can make sure the right amount of books appear and no-one misses out on the night.

Food + drinks by 107 Projects, live music by Veronica Wagner, words (and book) by Rohan Anderson and wrangling + good vibes by Milkwood. It’s going to be great. See you there.

This event will be held at :

107 Projects Gallery in Redfern,
downstairs from the Milkwood rooftop garden workshop space.
